History of Quickstart Tennis
Since February 2008 the United State Tennis Association introduced QuickStart Tennis, International Tennis Federation with Play and Stay, Professional Tennis Registry and many world wide tennis governing bodies are recognizing the importance of this approach for kids. They have put forth a tremendous amount of resources to sensitize clubs and tennis programs to implement this new concept. The first thing necessary is to shrink the equipment and environment to a manageable size for a kid. The kids play with a smaller net, smaller court, a lighter and smaller racquet and with a ball that is adapted for them. The environment and equipment progressively change as the children grow and their skills improve. It is not unusual to see kids at 5 years of age capable of a pro-like tennis technique with Quickstart Tennis. Before, kids had to go through many changes in their technique as they were growing older. These changes were frustrating, confusing and often very costly. The Power of the Quickstart Tennis System is that it allows students to play quickly and successfully. In Quickstart Tennis, the philosophy is that tennis is a great and fun game to play and the quicker and more skillfully a player can play, the better it is.
KidZone Quickstart Tennis
KidZone Quickstart Tennis is the second component of KidZone Tennis. We basically packaged the USTA Quickstart Tennis into a 3 stage process with 4 progressions per stage. KidZone Quickstart Tennis is design to take a complete beginner to a full technically developed tennis player. Tennis is a difficult sport in term of techniques and tactics. At a early stages we have a golden opportunity to teach great fundamentals. Regardless of the coaching philosophy good fundamentals are the same, therefore we carefully created tasks that are motivating for kids and guidelines for coaches to teach in a fun and efficient manner.

At the beginning each student is given a KidZone Quickstart Tennis progression card. On this card are all the tasks a student will have to perform to pass the progression. His or her coach will have to stamp the performed task until all the tasks on the card are completed. The motivated student can always take as many lesson he or she wants to rapidly advance through the tasks. The successful student will be rewarded with a graduation T-Shirt for every task achieved. An advanced student can always join at any level provided that he or she is able to perform the appropriate task required.
It is easier and much more economical to teach children proper technical skills right from the beginning rather than to modify poor technical habits later on. What they learn first will have a life long impact on how they will later play tennis. The science and technology in teaching kid’s tennis has made a giant leap. It is critical that your children learn from a reputable program that has all the resources and expertise.
